BIZZARE: Umbrella Pierces Drunken Woman's Gum, Impales Her Mouth After Falling Over In Hotel Room

Drunken reveller Jessica Yates fell over in a hotel room, on to an umbrella which impaled her face.

She landed on the opened upturned brolly so hard the end of one of the metal spokes rammed through her nose.

The sharp rod pierced her gum and impaled her mouth — so when paramedics arrived Jessica, 22, had the whole umbrella hanging off her face.

She was rushed to two hospitals, first to have most of it cut away and then to have the 6in stump removed under general anaesthetic. Shoe shop manager Jessica, of Solihull, West Midlands, was left with a half-inch scar by her nose.

The freak accident came after she returned to a hotel room with pal Laura Sullivan after a rainy day in Watford, Herts.

She dropped the dripping brolly on the floor, threw herself down on the bed — and promptly slipped off.
